Like most people, I started doing CrossFit because I wanted to look good. It’s definitely has changed my life, but not in the way you that would expect. I didn’t make some incredible physical transformation, although I like to think I’ve gotten a little bit stronger since I’ve started. What changed for me was my attitude. I had always been self-conscious of my height. Not long after I started I learned that being of shorter stature can be actually extremely beneficial for the vast majority of CrossFit movements. For the first time in my life, I saw my shortness as an advantage rather than a drawback.

CrossFit is extremely challenging. It is so hard in fact, that pretty much everything else in my life now seems easy by comparison. The community aspect of CrossFit is easily the biggest reason CrossFit has become such a widespread phenomenon. I’ve noticed that I work much harder in a group environment than I ever did training alone. I’m probably the most introverted person I know yet love interacting with other members of the gym. Everyone is there to be better and that’s something I can really get behind.
